General Health Consultations in Coorparoo
General health care is the foundation of everything we do at Coorparoo Clinic. Whether you have a new concern you would like assessed, need ongoing management of a known condition, or simply want a check-up, our GPs are here to listen carefully, investigate where appropriate, and help you find the right path forward.
We understand that health questions can feel overwhelming. A good GP consultation starts with listening — understanding what you are experiencing, what worries you, and what is important to you. Our doctors take the time to explain their findings in plain language and involve you in decisions about your care.
What this includes
General health consultations at Coorparoo Clinic cover a broad range of everyday health needs:
Acute concerns — colds, flu, infections, rashes, minor injuries, and symptoms that have come on suddenly. If your concern needs investigation, your GP can arrange blood tests, imaging, or a referral to an appropriate service.
Care plans and preventative health — for those managing a long-term condition, Medicare-funded GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements help coordinate your care across multiple providers. Annual health assessments are available for patients aged 75 and over, and for adults with specific risk factors.
Vaccinations and immunisations — routine childhood and adult immunisations are available at the clinic. See our Vaccinations service for the full range, including travel vaccines and Yellow Fever.
Health checks — early detection matters. Regular checks can help identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other conditions before they become significant problems. Your GP may recommend a blood pressure check, cholesterol test, or other screening based on your age and personal history.
Referrals — if your condition or concern would benefit from input from another health professional — a cardiologist, dermatologist, physiotherapist, psychologist, or other provider — your GP can arrange a referral with the appropriate clinical background.
What to expect at your appointment
When you book an appointment at Coorparoo Clinic, you will be seen by one of our GPs at the scheduled time. Please try to arrive a few minutes early, particularly for your first visit, so that your details can be confirmed at reception.
A standard consultation is 15 minutes. If you have several concerns to discuss, or if your issue is complex, consider booking a long appointment to allow adequate time. You are welcome to let reception know when booking if you think extra time may be needed.
Bring any previous investigation results, imaging reports, or referral letters that may be relevant to your appointment. If you take regular medications, a current medication list or the packaging itself is helpful.
Fees and Medicare rebates
Coorparoo Clinic operates on a mixed-billing basis. Aged Pension card holders and DVA card holders are bulk billed for standard consultations Monday to Friday. Concession card holders receive discounted consultation fees. Other patients are billed at private rates, with a Medicare rebate available on the day. Saturday consultations are billed at private rates with no bulk billing available.
