Receiving your results
Coorparoo Clinic's policy is that all test results — including pathology, imaging, and specialist reports — are reviewed by your doctor before being communicated to you. This ensures you receive appropriate context and advice alongside your results.
How you will be contacted
If your results require follow-up or further discussion, a member of our team will contact you by phone to arrange an appointment. If results are normal and no action is needed, you may not receive a call — however, you are always welcome to book a follow-up appointment to discuss results in person.
Urgent results
If your results indicate something requiring urgent attention, your doctor or a nurse will contact you as soon as possible. If you have not heard back within a timeframe you consider reasonable, please call us on (07) 3397 4151.
Please do not assume that no news is good news. If you are concerned about results you have not yet received, call the clinic directly.
Repeat scripts and referrals
Repeat prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions for ongoing medications generally require a consultation with your GP. This allows your doctor to review your current health, assess whether the medication is still appropriate, and check for any contraindications or changes in circumstances.
In some circumstances, a brief phone or telehealth consultation may be possible for straightforward repeat prescriptions — please call us to discuss your situation.
Specialist referrals
Referrals to specialists require an appointment with your GP. This ensures the referral letter contains accurate, up-to-date information and directs you to the most appropriate specialist for your needs. Please allow adequate time in your consultation for this to be arranged.
Sickness certificates
Medical certificates for workplace or educational purposes require a consultation. Your doctor may not be able to backdate a certificate without having seen you during the relevant period.
After-hours care options
Coorparoo Clinic is open Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm and Saturday 8:30 am–12:00 pm. When the clinic is closed, the following services may be able to assist.
